Mostly, I am a mom. I got married at 21 and had my kids at 23 and 25. I knew my marriage would be different. Our love was better, right?

Fast forward 12 years and I knew I had done everything I possibly could to save my marriage. One day, I knew for certain that it did not matter how good or bad I was, it would never be different. It was time to forge a new path for myself and my kids. I didn’t want them to think this was what marriage was supposed to look like.

It was a very scary and uncertain time. I had no idea what to expect, what to do, and I didn’t know what I didn’t know. The only thing I knew was that I had two little kids depending on me.

I didn’t know how I would make it, but I can tell you that I did. I survived and you will too!

Has it all been smooth sailing and pure bliss? HECK NO! But it is honest and real and I am here because I want to be, not because I feel like I don’t have a choice.

I am now remarried with my two kids and two wonderful bonus kids. I have three wonderfully weird and sweet rescue dogs.
